Questions
Before you call.
Do you do access control or alarms?
No. We install Ubiquiti cameras and nothing else in this category. If you need door entry, alarms or a monitored response, you want a licensed security integrator, and we are happy to hand over the network details so their install goes smoothly.
Why only Ubiquiti?
Because we run UniFi networking already, know the platform properly, and can support it well. A second camera ecosystem we only touch twice a year would make us worse at this, not better.
Is footage monitored?
Not by us. The system records and you can view it live or after the fact from your phone or desktop. Nobody at JAWEX is watching a wall of screens, and we will not imply otherwise.
How long is footage kept?
Whatever the storage supports. Tell us the retention period you need and we will size the recorder for it. Longer retention and higher resolution both cost storage, so it is a real tradeoff worth deciding up front.
Is there a monthly fee?
No recurring licence for UniFi Protect itself - that is one of the reasons we like it. You pay for the hardware and the install, and support falls under your normal agreement.
